15 Dead in Indonesia’s Flash Floods
Bong Darpan Online Desk:The death toll from flash floods and landslides triggered by heavy monsoon rains in Indonesia’s East Nusa Tenggara province and Bali island has risen to 15. Six others remain missing.On Wednesday, rescuers recovered the bodies of a mother and child from beneath the mud in Maubungo, the worst-hit village in East Nusa Tenggara. Another man’s body was found in the nearby Luka Laba village. Earlier, the bodies of three members of one family had been recovered.In Bali’s capital, Denpasar, rescuers also retrieved the body of a woman near the Kumbasari market.National Disaster Management Agency spokesman Abdul Muhari said that while the number of missing people was initially reported as eight, it was later revised down to two after verification.
