C.P. Radhakrishnan Elected as India’s 15th Vice President

The results of the Vice Presidential election were declared today, September 9, 2025.
NDA candidate C.P. Radhakrishnan emerged victorious, becoming the 15th Vice President of India.

  • Votes secured by Radhakrishnan: 452

  • Opponent B. Sudarshan Reddy (INDIA bloc): 300

  • Total valid votes: 752

  • Total votes polled: 767 (15 invalid)

  • Turnout: 98.21% (14 MPs abstained)

  • Winning margin: 152 votes

Crossing the required majority of 391, Radhakrishnan was declared elected at 7:30 PM.

This election was necessitated after former Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar resigned in July citing health reasons.
