Good News from Nabanna: One-Year Extension for Government Employees’ LTC and HTC

Kolkata, 11 September 2025: Ahead of Durga Puja, there is good news for state government employees. The Finance Department of the West Bengal government has announced that the validity of LTC (Leave Travel Concession) and HTC (Home Travel Concession) has been extended by one year.Currently, the LTC was set to expire on 31 October 2025. However, the validity has now been extended to 31 October 2026. Similarly, the HTC validity has also been extended by one year. This means that employees who could not avail of these benefits in the past three years can now do so within the next year.Government employees are entitled to this leave benefit once every three years. Nabanna has clarified that this one-year extension is a one-time provision and will not affect future leave cycles. Although the validity of old leave has been extended, according to rules, employees can apply for new leave from 1 November 2025.Some employees feel this decision will be very helpful, as many could not take leave at the designated time due to personal reasons. This one-year extension will give them the opportunity to avail of the benefit.In brief:
