I love Muhammad —

What can I say in this democratic country, brother?
Shame, shame, shame — there is no democracy!
If you don't shout "Jai Shri Ram", someone will beat you down;
saying "I love Muhammad" lands you in jail!
In my chest the Prophet lives — in my heart the Prophet’s house,
If they set fire to the silenced breast, everything will awaken.
He who spread peace across the world — will you plot against his name?
A hundred, a thousand times I would take that name and gladly be bound.
Beat me, lock me in prison, humiliate me as much as you like,
In this nurtured heart the Prophet’s glorious name will be raised.
The worms of hell will burn up and be consumed — nothing will taste of paradise,
All my life I will cry out: “I love Muhammad.”
