India Shines on Global Stage: Qari Manzoor Ahmad Secures 3rd Place in International Quran Recitation in Europe

At the prestigious 31st International Quran Recitation Competition held in Zagreb, the capital of Croatia, India's Qari Manzoor Ahmad made the nation proud by securing the 3rd position in the senior Qira’at category.

In a grand ceremony at the Islamic Centre of Zagreb on Saturday night, winners were announced in the presence of Croatia’s Grand Mufti, ambassadors from Qatar, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Indonesia, and other dignitaries.

Out of 72 contestants from 47 countries, only 12 were selected in the final round after rigorous selection. The first position was claimed by Turkey, the second by Indonesia, and the third by India—marking a historic achievement for the country.

Qari Manzoor Ahmad hails from Karimganj, Assam, and is the respected director of Khidmatul Quran Institute, located near New Town, Kolkata. His victory symbolizes India’s growing recognition in the field of Quranic recitation and excellence in Qira’at.

Officials from the Croatian Islamic Centre noted that this is the first time in the competition’s 30-year history that India has achieved such a prominent position—a proud milestone indeed for the nation.
