Metro Expansion on Fast Track: Noapara to Barasat—A New Lifeline for Daily Commuters

Work on the metro rail line from Barasat to Noapara is progressing rapidly. Once completed, thousands of daily commuters will benefit from this much-anticipated project.

One unique sight is at Dum Dum Cantonment—where the railway line runs underground while the metro passes above, creating a rare urban transport view. Currently, the Yellow Line is operational from Noapara to Jai Hind Airport Metro, covering about 7 km. The full stretch, however, will span 21 km up to Barasat.
