Nahid’s Congratulations to the Winners in DUCSU

Bongo Darpan Online: Nahid Islam, Convenor of the National Citizens Party (NCP), has congratulated all the newly elected leaders of the Dhaka University Central Students’ Union (DUCSU) and the hall unions.On Wednesday night, in a post on his verified Facebook page, Nahid wrote:
“I extend my heartfelt greetings and warm congratulations to all the newly elected leaders of DUCSU and the hall unions of Dhaka University. Through a participatory and competitive election, students have had the opportunity to choose their representatives—this is a positive step forward for our democratic practice.”He further wrote:“We expect DUCSU to become a true platform for realizing the aspirations and dreams of the students. I hope the leadership of DUCSU will play an effective role in building a democratic, academic, and terror- and fascism-free environment at the university. I also extend my best wishes to those who participated in the election but could not win. This practice of healthy competition will lay a strong foundation for the leadership of the future.”The NCP Convenor added:
“It is our expectation that DUCSU elections continue regularly. We also wish for regular student union elections to be held soon in all universities and colleges so that the youth of Bangladesh can practice democracy and contribute to national reconstruction.”
