Not Revenge, but Mercy and Forgiveness is the Lesson of Seerah: Azhari
Bongo Darpan, Online: No matter how many obstacles and hindrances come on the path of spreading the religion — not revenge, but mercy and forgiveness is the true lesson of Seerah, said the popular Islamic scholar and speaker Mawlana Mizanur Rahman Azhari. He shared this in a verified Facebook post on Wednesday.Mizanur Rahman Azhari wrote: When unspeakable torture, limitless oppression, terrible persecution, and shameless mockery suppressed the powerful voice of Tawheed and Risalah in the holy land of Makkah, when storm after storm rushed toward extinguishing the dim flame of Da’wah — at that moment, the Messenger (pbuh) made a far-sighted decision to leave his beloved homeland. He wrote: With the great purpose of conveying the sweet message of Tawheed to every home in Arabia, with sky-high enthusiasm and zeal, he set out for Ta’if, southeast of Makkah. Forgetting the bitter experiences of the past, he began anew with fresh vigor, immersing himself again in spreading the message of truth and beauty. But the response of the people of Ta’if was cruel! Their behavior was brutal! The reckless youths surrounded the Messenger (pbuh), some mocking, some ridiculing. Crossing all limits of insolence, a few even threw stones at him, leaving him bloodied. The sacred ground of Ta’if was stained with the noble blood of the Prophet (pbuh). The Angel of the Mountains came and said: “If you wish, I will crush them between the two mountains.”Yet, in the face of such inhuman oppression, cruel torture, and mockery, the Messenger (pbuh) remained unyielding — firm as a mountain, steadfast and resolute. Like the pouring rain, his heart overflowed with affection, compassion, and love for humanity. With a trembling voice, he prayed for those wretched people: “O Allah, forgive them, for they do not know.”SubhanAllah! Truly, the leader of the Ummah is like this! This was just a small glimpse of the Ta’if journey of the beloved Prophet (pbuh) — an extraordinary example of boundless patience, unparalleled sacrifice, and mountain-like steadfastness. The Messenger (pbuh) said: “Perhaps Allah will bring forth from their descendants those who will worship Allah alone.” [Sahih Muslim, Hadith: 1795]And within a few years, indeed, that statement came true in every sense. Therefore, no matter how many obstacles and hindrances arise in the path of spreading the religion — not revenge, but mercy and forgiveness is the true lesson of Seerah.
