Wealth and Weapons, Yet Cowardice: What Happened to Today’s Arabs?
Online Bangadarpon:
It is said that wealth makes men timid—and nowhere is this more visible than in today’s Arab world.
Qatar possesses 138 tanks, 922 armored vehicles, 16 rocket launchers, and 205 aircraft—96 of them fighter jets. Over the last decade, it has strengthened its air force with F-15s from the US, Rafales from France, and Eurofighter Typhoons from Britain. Similarly, Saudi Arabia and Dubai remain among the world’s largest arms buyers.
And yet, despite their vast arsenals and immense riches, today’s Arabs are seen as fearful.
The elders have long said: luxury kills the heart, and cowardice takes root within.
Once, their forefathers had neither food nor water, nor clothes, nor weapons—yet they carried unmatched courage, unshakable strength, and firm faith. Living on dates, often starving, they crushed the mighty empires of Kisra and Caesar. They raised the banner of Islam from China to Spain.
Today, with all the wealth and weapons in their possession, the spirit of courage has faded.
